Tokio Marine unveils Malaysia’s first digital Covid-19 insurance coverage plan in partnership with Fatberry.com

KUALA LUMPUR, 3 December 2021 - Tokio Marine Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad (Tokio Marine) is proud to announce the launch of Malaysia’s first digital Covid-19 insurance coverage plan in partnership with Fatberry.com, Malaysia’s leading digital insurance platform.

With this partnership, both companies aim to provide Malaysians with an extensive insurance coverage right from the moment a person is tested positive for Covid-19.

The recent pandemic has led the world through a lockdown for almost two years resulting in business closures and “pandemic fatigue”, disrupted livelihoods and hefty out-of-pocket medical expenses for those found positive for Covid-19.

Malaysia is now progressing into the endemic phase, with the rakyat learning to live alongside Covid-19. With authorities reducing Covid-19 restrictions and more people returning to their lives at work and social activities, comprehensive protection against Covid-19 is now a necessity.

Recognising the gap in the market for affordable Covid-19 protection, Tokio Marine partnered with Fatberry.com to introduce a Covid-19 coverage plan (Tokio Marine VitalCover) targeted at Malaysians within the age of 16 to 55. Guaranteeing a cash allowance of up to RM1,500 after positive Covid-19 and hospital allowances up to RM3,000 to the affected individual.

Affordable plans start from RM88 annually or just RM0.25 a day. With Plan 1000, benefits include hospital allowances, Covid-19 allowances and funeral expenses. Respiratory diseases such as Asthma, Bronchitis, Pneumonia, Influenza, H1N1, Bird Flu, Tuberculosis and Lung Infection are also included under this plan.
