Following the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia's ("IRBM") announcement in October 2023 on the implementation of e-invoicing in Malaysia, Tokio Marine Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad (“TMIM”, “it”, “we” or “us”) wishes to advise that it will be implementing e-Invoicing from 1 August 2024.

Kindly be informed that the Persatuan Insurans Am Malaysia (“PIAM”) members, including TMIM, have been granted an approval by IRBM to issue consolidated e-Invoice for all its income and are not required to issue validated e-Invoice to customers for individual transactions in relation to its products and services during the period of 1 August 2024 to 30 June 2025. Henceforth, there is no requirement for customers and business partners to obtain validated e-Invoices from TMIM for income tax deduction / relief purposes at this juncture.

Additionally, during this period as well, TMIM will be issuing self-billed e-Invoices for certain categories of products and services acquired by us as stated in the relevant IRBM guidelines.

TMIM will start issuing individual validated e-Invoices for all its products and services from 1 July 2025 onwards.

Meanwhile, to facilitate the smooth transition to e-Invoicing and to ensure compliance to IRBM’s requirements, we highly appreciate your kind cooperation to expediently update your profile with us, including to provide your Tax Identification Number (TIN), latest Business Registration Number (BRN) and Sales & Service Tax (SST) Number (if applicable) as and when such requests are made by us.
