Alistair Chamberlain is the Chief Executive Officer and drives the strategic direction of Tokio Marine Group for its life business in Singapore.
Alistair is an experienced insurance executive, with experience working across Europe and Asia. He trained as an Actuary in the UK before moving to Singapore in 2008, where he has since held senior roles including Chief Actuary, CFO, Product and Marketing with leading companies in Singapore. Prior to joining Tokio Marine, Alistair was the global CFO for the insurance business of a leading global banking and insurance group.
Alistair has been chair of the actuarial sub-committee of the Life Insurance Association in Singapore and also served on the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) insurance committee and the Singapore Actuarial Society Council.
Alistair is a Fellow of the actuarial associations in Singapore, UK and Hong Kong and holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Edinburgh University (UK).
As the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Mr Tokura works closely with the CEO and the management team to set the strategic direction for the company, drive operational efficiency and deliver value to our stakeholders.
He joined the Tokio Marine Group in 1991 and served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Tokio Marine Life Malaysia and Chief Strategy Officer at Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance in India. Most recently, he held the position of Special Advisor, Life Insurance at Tokio Marine Asia.
Mr Tokura holds a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Tokyo University and is a Fellow of the Underwriters Association of Japan.
Gilbert Pak is the Chief Marketing Officer and leads the marketing and product development strategies of the Company. He also oversees Product Development, Marketing and Training departments.
Gilbert brings with him more than 27 years of Marketing, Product Development, Actuarial and Financial experience across Asia. Prior to joining Tokio Marine, Gilbert was Regional Head of Product Management Asia Pacific of an international insurance brand with notable presence in Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan and China. He has spearheaded key regional product transformation initiatives, which included the roll-out of Capital Efficient Solutions, Product Mix Shift and Product Management of the most successful Bancassurance partnerships regionally. Before that, he held various C-suite positions of major global insurance companies in Singapore, Vietnam and China.
Gilbert is a qualified Actuary and holds an MBA from Warwick University, United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
Michael Kuek is the Chief Actuary and is responsible for leading the Actuarial Valuation and Pricing teams.
Supported by over 20 years of actuarial experience, Michael was previously Chief Actuary of the Singapore operation of a Chinese state-owned insurer. He brings with him in-depth knowledge in both local and regional areas of Actuarial Science, including Pricing, Valuation, Reinsurance Management and Product Development.
Michael obtained his Bachelor of Business in Actuarial Science from Nanyang Technological University Singapore, and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He is also a Certified Enterprise Risk Analyst.
Goh Kay Yiong is the Chief Investment Officer and oversees the management of the Company’s Investment Assets and Portfolio.
Kay Yiong has more than 17 years of experience in the financial services industry with roles in Equity Analysis, Fund Management and Investment Products Management/Advisory. He brings with him in-depth experience across different asset classes and market segments, and has previously worked in Tokio Marine Asset Management International as well as multinational financial services and Singapore-based private banking firms. He started his career as an auditor in a multinational professional services network.
Kay Yiong graduated from Nanyang Technological University Singapore with a Bachelor of Accountancy, and has an MBA from Manchester Business School and a Graduate Diploma in Economics from University of London (LSE). He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.
Esmond Chan is the Chief Operations Officer and oversees the entire insurance operations including Underwriting & Claims, Policy Servicing & Customer Servicing, Distribution Operations and Information Technology.
In his 27-year tenure with a leading insurer in Singapore, Esmond has held various leadership positions in Compliance, Life and Health Insurance Operations, Distribution Middle Office, Corporate Planning and Information Technology. He has spearheaded numerous successful strategic initiatives that ensure the organisation’s adherence to regulatory compliance.
Esmond graduated with a Bachelor of Business (2nd Upper Class Honours) in Banking, Finance and Insurance from Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
Mr Maeda is Chief Corporate Officer, providing leadership oversight of the Legal and Corporate Secretariat, Planning and Control, Human Resources and Administration as well as Training functions. He brings with him a wealth of experience in international business as well as corporate and strategic planning.
Mr Maeda has been with Tokio Marine for more than two decades. He most recently served as the General Manager/Group Leader of the Planning Group in the International Business Development Department at Tokio Marine Holdings (TMHD) for two years.
At TMHD, Mr Maeda was responsible for mergers and acquisitions outside of Japan, from sourcing to executing transactions. He also played an integral role in formulating business plans and strategies for the International Business Development Department.
Mr Maeda earned a Bachelor of Law degree from Kyoto University and a Master of Laws (LLM) from The George Washington University Law School. In July 2006, he successfully passed the New York bar examination.
