Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore cares for and supports healthcare staff of Singapore General Hospital with mobile massage treat delivered by visually handicapped masseurs
Singapore, 5 October 2022 - Tokio Marine Life Insurance Singapore Ltd (TMLS) brought back the well-received CSR campaign “Caring From Top To Toe,” to thank and appreciate the healthcare staff of Singapore General Hospital for their tireless efforts throughout these past few years. Mobile stations were set up by qualified, visually handicapped masseurs for three hours daily at Singapore General Hospital from 26 to 28 September 2022, offering 20-minute head and shoulder or foot massages to the nurses and staff.
Gilbert Pak, Chief Marketing Officer, TMLS, said, “The SGH nursing heroes and healthcare staff form the heart and soul of the frontlines in the pandemic, and they continue to work tirelessly to keep the community safe — whether directly with patients, or in providing much-needed support. We are delighted to extend the positive impact of our successful ‘Caring From Top to Toe’ programme to them. We hope the gift of 20-minute massages provided them with a richly-deserved break.”
He also shared, “This double-pronged initiative also allowed us to further promote a more inclusive society. We were pleased to engage qualified, visually handicapped masseurs and support them in their resilience and independence.”
Angela Ng, Communications Director, SGH, expressed gratitude on behalf of the hospital toward Tokio Marine for the event. She said: “For almost three years now, our staff have been working long and hard at the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic. We are grateful to Tokio Marine for this thoughtful gift. About 200 of our staff had been looking forward to this treat — to have their aching muscles relieved by the masseurs. Thank you Tokio Marine for bringing cheer to our staff.”
Koh Yee Mui, a Senior Patient Experience Manager at SGH with more than 50 years of nursing experience, enjoyed the treat. “The session was very relaxing and comfortable. It helped me to wind down after a tense day — a good and beneficial experience. I think that it is a very good initiative for the benefit of the staff, because they work very hard. Thank you Tokio Marine!”
Daisy Keh, an experienced masseur with 17 years of experience under her belt, shared the fulfilment she felt at being able to serve others with the healing power of touch. “The satisfaction comes from customers being able to feel relieved after our massage. It is a delight when they appreciate us for the services we rendered.”
