Assistant Finance Manager (IFRS17)

Job Responsibilities

Pre IFRS17 Implementation - IFRS 17 Project Team

Align technical accounting papers & accounting policies with Head office, Subsidiary company & External auditors
Assist in development of system architecture (FIN related) and enhancements to existing systems to cater for IFRS 17 reporting
Handle new subledger system configurations and maintenance
Align IFRS 17 Chart of Accounts with Head Office
Data mapping & system integration
Business events mapping & creation of IFRS17 related journal entries
UAT test management, including development of test scenarios
Prepare mock up financial statements & disclosure notes
Prepare historical data for transition
Update IFRS 17 workflows in department manual & SOPs
Work with external auditors & consultants on issues relating to the project

Post IFRS17 Implementation - IFRS 17 BAU

Maintenance of new subledger system
Conduct parallel runs for IFRS17 reporting
Prepare financial reporting based on IFRS17 requirements
Perform Day 2 IFRS17 UAT testing
Prepare reconciliations to ensure that granular breakdowns tie back to the respective general ledger
Analyse exception reports & work with stakeholders on rectifications
Work with stakeholders to review & revise BAU work processes that are affected by IFRS17 reporting

Job Requirements

Qualified or Qualifying Accountant
Minimum 2 years’ experience in insurance industry and experience in IFRS 17 preferred
